Welcome to Camp at the Woods!
CAMP AT THE WOODS: Celebrating 27 years of "making memories to last a
lifetime," Camp at the Woods is an all-inclusive residential camp set on
the beautiful campus of St. Mary of the Woods College (near Terre Haute,
IN). We offer a variety camps from Adventure and Horseback Riding to
Theater and Exploring Earth, in addition to exciting new themes and
events like Mystery at the Woods, Surf's Up, International Fest and
Survivor. Each day is packed with fun, friends and excitement for boys
and girls, ages 7-14.
COSTS: For a full week of camp, including lodging, meals, professional
instruction and entertainment, transportation for swimming, snacks,
prizes, pictures, t-shirts and more, prices start at just $350 for our
traditional Adventure Camp. Specialty camps are $375, and Equine
(Horseback Riding) Camp is $475. Early registration, multiple camp and
multiple child discounts may be available.
CAMP STAFF: Our Director is returning to Camp at the Woods for a third consecutive season and has more than 15 years of experience in camp, athletic and recreational programs. Additionally, our Director is supported by three outstanding professionals with vast experience in planning and managing a variety of programs and conferences for St. Mary-of-the-Woods College. Counselors at CAMP AT THE WOODS (click here for pictures and bios) are high school and college-age students with experience in and enthusiasm for camping. All staff complete camp counselor and CPR training led by experts in various fields, while certified teachers and professionals provide instruction to our special interest campers.
SECURITY: Safety is every parent’s
primary concern. CAMP AT THE WOODS is situated within
the wooded, secure boundaries of Saint Mary-of-the-
Woods College. There is a registered nurse on staff, as well as a 24-hour
Security force on duty.
HOUSING: Campers reside in the residence hall at the College. Day camp is an option, but children must be picked up before 6:00 p.m.
ROOMING ASSIGNMENTS: Campers are assigned to groups within a two-year age range,
and they occupy a specified area under the care and supervision of a counselor team that stays with them the entire week. If a camper has a roommate preference, it must be indicated on the registration form, they must be in the same age range, and the request must be mutual.
CAMP AT THE WOODS STORE: Our STORE will carry snacks, souvenirs,
and various necessities. Parents will "bank" the amount they permit their
child to spend for the week with the Storekeeper and unspent funds will be
returned to you when you pick up your child. That way, children do not have to worry about keeping track of their money.
